DA accuses ANC of being disingenuous in the wake of Gupta emails

The Democratic Alliance said today that it wanted the inquiry stemming from the state of capture report, issue by Thuli Madonsela before leaving office, should take place in parliament. The inquiry will seek to uncover just how deep the Gupta influence runs inside the South African government and the ANC.

“The DA believes that it is deeply disingenuous that the ANC is calling for an inquiry into the capture of its own government,” DA national spokesperson Phumzile van Damme said on Friday.

“There have been numerous opportunities for the ANC to take action against its captured president and its Gupta captors, but it has not done so.”
